After some detours and redirections, I finally got down to business and began editing what has thus far been written for my novel, "The Philogynist." Overall, I am content with the writing. It has a long, long way to go, but I am pleased.
My epic poem, "Antietam," is integrated into the novel at one point. It comprises 2/3 of the 42 pages.
My proofreader may be less pleased than me, but that's her job.
Also, I am writing a chapter for the piece, called "Psychiatric." It addresses head on - in fictionalized way - the conflicts that I am facing internally and does not shy away from the hard questions or the scary alternatives to not addressing the hard questions.
