American Quixotic - Dulcinea...in Progress

This one is special, and I am taking my time with her. As a part of my American Quixotic series, I am doing a "Dulcinea" piece. She is not the whore of the original novel in this piece, just a gal looking to escape.

The hair will be red and I am doing a little research into the styles of hair for the 1950s. It is also likely she will be wearing glasses as she looks at the map. The drink: bourbon, of course.

The boots are a bit of a tribute to a special pal of mine who has a great sense of humor and sense of self.

The body is done without the aid of a model.

I like watching your paintings as they progress!
